Stamford hospice planning to close

Many families are upset over plans to close a Stamford hospice.

The non-profit group Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care of Southwestern Connecticut owns the Rosenthal Hospice facility.

The group has sent a letter to patients saying they plan to close down.

The facility could close as early as next month if the Department of Social Services approves the request.

Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care of Southwestern Connecticut did not return calls for comment.
