Wake to be held tomorrow for Fairfield child killed by pit bulls

A Fairfield mother is looking for answers and help after her toddler was mauled to death by pit bulls.

The grandfather of 21-month-old Nevaeh Angel Bryant says she went to stay with her aunt in West Haven Friday while her mother was helping a friend move and she was mauled by the dogs inside the apartment.

She died at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Authorities say the pit bulls were euthanized.

A wake has been scheduled for tomorrow night at Spear-Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Her funeral will be held Thursday morning at Our Lady of Assumption Church.

Friends and family have set up a fund for donations to help Navaeh's mother pay for the arrangements.
