Pilot recovering after Ridgefield plane crash

The pilot whose plane seared the tops off several trees before flipping over and crashing on a front lawn in Ridgefield is doing fine today.

The single engine plane crashed shortly after takeoff from the Danbury airport.

Family members say the pilot of the plane is Robert Baldwin.

Authorities say no one was home at the time but a neighbor rescued the pilot from the cockpit.

The Federal Aviation Administration says a report on the incident should be released in the coming weeks.
