Search efforts suspended for missing Woodbridge boater

Police say they have suspended search efforts for a missing boater this evening following another day of searching for him.

Police say 75-year-old Richard Fiske, of Woodbridge, disappeared yesterday morning while boating from the New Haven Rowing Club on the Housatonic River.

The boat was later found overturned and empty, according to officials.

Searchers say that the water temperature is about 45 degrees and that most people could only survive in water of that temperature for about nine hours.

Police say they will continue the search tomorrow, but will begin focusing on recovering his body.
