Blumenthal calls for rental truck regulations

The recent deadly accident outside the Yale-Harvard football game has some Connecticut lawmakers calling for a change.

A woman was killed earlier this month when she was hit by a rental truck while tailgating in New Haven.

The driver claims there was a problem with the vehicle, but official tests have not yet been completed.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal says this accident highlights serious loopholes in the way rental trucks are regulated from state to state.

Blumenthal is pushing for new federal standards that would require rental trucks to follow the same standards that commercial vehicles follow.
