Woman critical after Stratford hit-and-run accident

A 29-year-old woman is fighting for her life following a serious hit-and-run accident that happened in Stratford early this morning.

Police say at 2:45 a.m., a driver fled the scene on Main Street after striking down the woman while she was crossing the street.

Witnesses say following the collision, the driver, who lives just a block away, parked the damaged car in front of his driveway and went home as if nothing had happened. He was arrested minutes later.

Police have not indicated whether alcohol was a factor in the accident. They continue to warn drivers to stop and call 911 if they are ever involved in a crash.
