Man dies in Bridgeport police custody
An investigation is under way today after a naked man died while being hit with a stun-gun at least three times by Bridgeport police.
A city spokesperson says emergency medical personnel were trying to get the man into an ambulance on Wilkins Avenue yesterday, but he resisted.
That is when police used a stun gun on the man.
Police say the man was in his late 50s and was possibly under the influence of drugs.
They say he went into cardiac arrest at the scene and died a short time later.
Police believe the officers acted properly.
