New Canaan looks to start new winning streak in football

The New Canaan Rams hope some sweet treats will help them get back to their winning ways on the gridiron.

The 7-1 Rams are coming off a rare loss at Stamford last week and will face a Trumbull this weekend. Trumbull, after a 2-0 start, has lost their last five games.

To keep his players motivated this week, New Canaan coach Lou Marinelli broke out an old trick, lollipops.

Marinelli says has been rewarding his players in practice this week for good effort; "After the halfway point in the season, we started bringing tootsie pops and its been like a tradition I don't even know where they come from but they're here every day."
