Man hurt in accidental shooting in Fairfield

A man is in the hospital after police say he was accidentally shot in the chest by a co-worker in Fairfield.

It happened last night at American Custom, a motorcycle parts store.

Investigators say two workers were mishandling a gun in a office and one of them accidentally fired a shot through the wall.

The bullet hit another person in the chest as he walked by the office.

He was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery last night.

Investigators say criminal charges could be filed against one or both of the men responsible.
