Sen. Blumenthal oversees aquarium renovation

The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk had a very high profile visitor today when Sen. Richard Blumenthal stopped by to view the progress of several new improvements and upgrades that are currently under construction.
The expansion is being paid for in part by a federal grant that the senator believes will improve the economy in southwestern Connecticut.
He says the renovation will draw even greater numbers of people and economic growth and more jobs for the area.
The upgrades include a new 40-foot long touch pool, a fish nursery and an oversized interactive map of Long Island Sound.
Construction is expected to be completed by February.
