Bridgeport police: Man confessed to murder

A Bridgeport man accused of killing another man on Christmas Day reportedly confessed to authorities.

Police say Israel Gonzalez, who was in court yesterday, told detectives he shot and killed Noel Cosme, 29, on Christmas Day because he thought Cosme stole his wallet.

They say the men got in a fight early Sunday morning after a night of partying in an apartment on Laurel Avenue.

The victim's friends are now trying to raise money to send his body back to Mexico where he has a wife and son.
