Fight brewing over Congressional redistricting

A group of activists is urging state lawmakers to keep the city of Bridgeport in the fourth Congressional district.

They submitted a petition with nearly 1,900 signatures yesterday to the state panel charged with redrawing the congressional district lines.

Some Republicans have suggested moving Bridgeport to the third district to balance district populations.

The panel has until Wednesday to make a decision before the state Supreme Court takes over.
