Bridgeport man charged with running over fire hose

A Bridgeport man is facing charges after police say he ran over a fire hose being used to fight a blaze over the weekend.

They say the man continually drove over the firefighters' hose Saturday morning near the intersection of Lindley and Salem streets.

Firefighters were putting out a blaze inside a large trash bin when the 21-year-old came down the street and would not listen to firefighters' commands to stop.
