Stamford bank robbery suspect appears in court

A Stamford man appeared in court this afternoon on charges in connection with a bank robbery last month.

Timothy Robinson, 20, was arrested Friday in connection with the robbery of the People's Bank on Shippan Avenue.

Investigators say Robinson's accomplice collected the money while Robinson threatened people inside the bank, including a 7-year-old boy that police say he pointed a gun at and threatened to shoot.

Police say the small silver handgun used in the robbery was also used in a series of other crimes and they believe more arrests in connection with the cases will soon follow.
