Memorial Day parade marches with new rule

Thousands of people are expected to view the Memorial Day parade in Fairfield this weekend, while organizers are hoping a new rule will help them to keep the route clear of clutter.

Temporary signs have been posted along the parade route telling the public that no property can be left at the curb prior to the holiday weekend.

They say the parade has grown over the years and today more than 2,500 people march while several thousand watch.

Organizers say the parade will start at 10 a.m. on Monday and this year's theme is the Purple Heart.

Officials say the ban is in effect until tomorrow morning.
