Stamford police search for attackers

Police are searching for three men who beat up a 25-year-old Stamford man and threw him into the Mill River.

The attack happened at the intersection of West Main and Greenwich Avenue early Saturday.

The victim was intoxicated and also had severe bruises on the back of his head, but police say it could have been much worse.

One witness saw a small red car driving away from the scene.

Anyone with information is urged to call Stamford police detectives at 203-977-4417.
