Bridgeport police, fire spokesman resigns

Tim Quinn, who was recently named the public information officer for both the Bridgeport fire and police departments, resigned on Friday, following his suspension for sending an offensive email.

Officials say the email Quinn sent on May 12 was particularly offensive to Latinos and African-Americans. Quinn had allegedly suggested that cartoon caricatures should replace mug shots and that names and descriptions of suspects should be changed.
