Greenwich schools superintendent resigns

The superintendent of Greenwich Public Schools, Dr. Sidney Freund, announced his resignation yesterday in a letter to the school community.

Within hours of his announcement, students, parents and community members began petitioning the superintendent to remain at his post. A Facebook page was even created pleading for Freund to stay with Greenwich Public Schools.

Freund and the district would not comment today and there is no word on when his last day will be.
