Update on man who stole EMS vehicle in Woodbridge

Woodbridge police say a man is facing charges for taking an emergency response vehicle on a joyride.

Police say paramedics were treating a patient on Barberry Lane Monday night when 22-year-old Michael Issaev hopped in their vehicle and drove away.

About 20 minutes later, they say state police found him in Southbury.

Police say no one was hurt, but Issaev damaged several lawns with the SUV.

Sgt. Frank Cappiello, of the Woodbridge Police Department, says, "it is kind of unusual. I've never seen anything like it in 30 years."
