Stamford police K9 bites jogger

A woman is recovering after being bitten by a Stamford police K9 while jogging.

Maria Braccio, 52, was jogging on Stonehedge Drive in Greenwich Monday when the dog attacked her.

Stamford police say the dog acted out of character when it bit her arm and leg and knocked her down.

The dog is a 2 and 1/2 year old German Shepherd that has been part of the K9 unit for a year.
