Football game changed due to gang violence fears

Stamford officials have rescheduled this Friday's football game between Stamford High School and Brien McMahon High School to prevent possible gang retaliation.

Police say the game has been moved from 6 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. after they received anonymous tips indicating Friday's game could promote further tensions between rivaling groups of teens after recent shootings in the area.

According to officials, the most recent incident happened last night when shots were fired just off exit 6 on I-95.

Two people were also shot and killed after a series of gunfire in Stamford's Southwood Square Housing Complex over the weekend.
