Jury selection under way in Fairfield double murder trial

Jury selection began today in the trial of a man accused of murdering two Fairfield jewelers in their store in 2005.

Prosecutors say Chris DiMeo, 28, shot Tim and Kim Donnelly to death during a robbery.

DiMeo could receive the death penalty if he is convicted. His trial is scheduled to begin on Jan. 18.

DiMeo is already serving life in prison in New York for killing a Long Island jewelry store owner.

His former girlfriend, Nicole Pierce, has already pleaded guilty to her role in the murder.
