Obama visit rakes in the money for Dems

A visit last night raked in large amounts of money for Senate candidate Richard Blumenthal and the Democratic party.

At an event in Stamford with the president, Blumenthal took in about $400,000.

Later in the evening, Blumenthal attended a private fundraiser in Greenwich that brought in more than a million dollars for the party. Director Ron Howard was said to be there along with "Doonesbury" cartoonist Garry Trudeau and his wife, television journalist Jane Pauley.
