Norwalk barber celebrates 50 years on the job
Norwalk Mayor Dick Moccia stopped by a local barber shop today to celebrate a barber's 50th anniversary of doing business in the city.
Joe Buono says he started cutting hair when he was only 9 years old. Now 87, Buono says he has no plans of putting his scissors down anytime soon.
"I'm born to be a barber," he says. "I can close my eyes and give you a good, beautiful haircut."
In 1960, Buono opened his own barber shop in Norwalk, and has been at it ever since.
"To see him at his age of 87 still cutting hair and wanting to come to work every day is the American dream a hundred times over," Moccia says.
