Police look for suspects who assaulted 2 in Fairfield

Fairfield police are looking for a man and woman who they say assaulted and robbed two library volunteers over the weekend.

Police say the incident happened while the victims were talking in the parking lot across the street from the Post Road branch Saturday evening.

They say two suspects approached the victims and asked for money. However, when the victims said they didn't have any, police say the suspects punched the woman in the nose and hit the man in the head.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 203-254-4829.
