Greenwich police investigating swastika etched in street
Police say residents in Greenwich spotted a swastika etched into the street Saturday morning.
Neighbors first found the swastika outside 9 Guilford Lane, according to police. The marking was stained into the asphalt with some sort of household cleaner, nearly stretching the width of the road.
Police say they are looking at several teens who live in the neighborhood. Authorities told News 12 Connecticut that they were called to the area Friday night after reports of some kind of explosion.
First Selectman Peter Tesei (R-Greenwich) says there is no need for residents to be alarmed, and that he is encouraging a police investigation regardless of the culprits' age.
