Memorials across the country mark 9/11

As the nation gathered to mourn the Sept. 11 attacks, memorials across the country took place to remember the victims.

President Barack Obama marked the attack on the Pentagon, which killed 184 when a hijacked airliner was crashed into the building.

The first lady traveled to Shanksville, Pa., to remember those who died trying to retake the hijacked United Airlines Flight 93.

In New York City, Mayor Michael Bloomberg spoke about the construction of a memorial for the 3,000 people who died at the World Trade Center.
