Bridgeport family still uprooted 1 year after fire
A Bridgeport family whose home was destroyed in a 2015 fire says they are still lacking a permanent place to live.
Alvin Manuel, 59, says he and his family are filled with frustration because they were originally promised by their building's management company that their home and the others on Alanson Road damaged by the fire would be reconstructed and ready to move back into six months after the fire.
The fire left Manuel's family and four other families displaced.
"If it would have been any other neighborhood, I feel things would have been handled a lot differently," he says. "A lot quicker and better."
Manuel says that he and the other families have been living in temporary housing for the time being.
News 12 reached out to the management company that owns the properties, Collect Associates, but did not receive a response.
