Man uninjured after attempted drive-by shooting in Bridgeport

Officials say they have stepped up patrols along Capitol Avenue after a gunman fired two shots at a resident there Sunday in what police say was a targeted attack.
The shots rang out just before 12 p.m.
Police say the gunman drove up in a gray Monte Carlo, then jumped out and began shooting at a man sitting on the steps in front of his house. The would-be victim then ran inside and was not struck, while the shooter sped away.
"There's definitely a reason why someone came here, deliberately, pulled out a gun and shot at him, so we're going to do a very thorough investigation and we'll get to the bottom of it," says Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez.
Police say they will be examining surveillance video which may have captured the crime in progress.
Police are also asking anybody who may have witnessed the incident to call them.
