Electoral College members explain voting process

News 12 spoke with some of the seven people who will actually be voting for president in Connecticut.

Bridgeport state Rep. Chris Rosario is one of those seven. On Dec. 19, he'll cast his official vote in Hartford. Since Hillary Clinton won Connecticut's popular vote, all this year's electors are Democrats.

But will Republican electors go rogue and "Dump" Trump? More than 4 million people online are asking electors to switch their votes.

Wilton's Deborah McFadden was an elector in 2008. She says that since electors are party loyalists, defections are extremely unlikely.

Even if Donald Trump were to drop below 270 electoral votes, the U.S. House would pick the president. Each state gets one vote, so experts say the winner would almost certainly be a Republican.
