Man in intensive care after sidewalk stabbing in Stamford
Stamford police say a man is in the intensive care unit Wednesday after he was stabbed multiple times on the sidewalk.
They say the incident happened Tuesday afternoon outside a mini mart by the intersection of Rose Park Avenue near the 100 block of Richmond Hill Avenue.
Officials say the victim, in his 20s, was with a few people he knows by face but not name when the group attacked him and stabbed him multiple times in his torso. They say the attack was caught on surveillance video.
Police say they are still working on the motive of the attack and say the victim is cooperating.
"We're optimistic with his cooperation we could bring this to closure," says Stamford Police Lt. Tom Barcello.
They say the victim is expected to survive.
