Flames heavily damage apartments in Stamford

Multiple apartments inside a home in Stamford were damaged in a fire Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred on Lockwood Avenue around 1:30 p.m.

Fire officials say the blaze started in the basement and run up the walls of the first, second and third floors. Multiple fire departments were on hand to quell the flames.

Officials say the building was heavily damaged and unlivable.
