Fire destroys vacant building in Derby

A three-alarm fire destroyed a vacant building in Derby Sunday.

The fire happened in an abandoned building near Caroline and Main streets just after 5 a.m., near the bridge that goes over the Housatonic River.

Investigators say they are working to determine what sparked the blaze.

Fire officials say no one was hurt.

The mayor says the building is now set to be demolished, and the land will be included in the city's revitalization plan.
