Greenwich fire officials search for cause of fire

Greenwich fire officials are searching for the cause of a fire that damaged a home yesterday.

News 12 is told a driver noticed the flames shortly after 9 p.m. while passing the residence on John Street near the Audubon Society.

The fire chief says the driver's quick response helped firefighters to quickly put out the blaze.

The driver says they weren't sure if anyone was home and knocked on the door, and found out the residents were home and unaware of the fire in the attic.

News 12 is told none of the residents were hurt in the blaze.

Officials say a firefighter was taken to Greenwich Hospital with minor injuries.
