Cactus Rose restaurant in Wilton shut down due to pipe burst
Wilton fire officials say the cold weather may have caused a restaurant's pipes to burst for the second time in two years.

The incident happened at Cactus Rose in Wilton on Thursday around 3:30 p.m. when freezing cold water gushed from the ceiling. A cleanup crew arrived at the restaurant Saturday to remove soaked tiles and insulation.

Fire officials say an investigation points to a dry pipe sprinkler system as the cause of the burst.

The restaurant's owner Maria Petris says the pipes also burst nearly two years ago, causing them to close for about four months.

But Petris' main concern comes for her employees, who she says are losing money during their busiest time of the year.

A GoFundMe has been created to help employees while Petris works to reopen her restaurant.
