CT's electors vote at state Capitol amid protests

There were no surprises when the members of the Electoral College met in Connecticut Monday.
All seven of the state's electors voted for Hillary Clinton Monday afternoon, in spite of some calls for them to flip to voting Republican.
There were dozens of protesters outside the state Capitol in Hartford. Some of them were asking the electors to flip their vote to a "compromise" Republican -- anyone other than Donald Trump -- in a bid to sway the electoral election to Congress to decide.
Protesters in Connecticut said they knew it was a long shot to change the results of the elections, but that they wanted to send a message.
Connecticut electors would have faced a small fine if they defied the state's popular vote. Still, none of this year's electors said they ever considered flipping their votes to keep Donald Trump from winning.
