Bridgeport police searching for two armed robbers

Bridgeport police are asking for the public's help Thursday to track down two armed robbers.
They say two gunmen committed the first of three armed robberies at an apartment building on Main and Salem streets around 10 a.m. Wednesday. Officials say the suspects then carried out the other two robberies nearby a short time later, robbing a total of five people.
Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez says nobody was injured. Perez says he is alarmed by these crimes because they are reminiscent of the killing of Bridgeport store owner Jose Salgado last year.
Authorities say what ties the crimes together is a Volkswagen Jetta that the suspects made away with. They say the Jetta, with a Connecticut license plate 165-ZWB, was last seen traveling east on Salem Street. Police believe the suspects are from New Haven.
Police say the Salgado murder suspects, who were captured on surveillance video and eventually arrested, were also from New Haven and followed some of the same exact patterns.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
