AAA offices no longer offering DMV services

The Department of Motor Vehicles said Tuesday that some AAA offices are no longer offering their services.

The DMV said it couldn't come to an agreement with the owner of those franchises so AAA offices in Fairfield and New Haven counties will no longer be offering those services.

Many drivers say AAA was a quick alternative to a trip to the DMV. They say they should bring it back because it was easy, convenient and stress-free.

This change comes after the DMV says it has worked to get customers in and out quickly. The DMV says they've reduced wait times by 55 percent but some residents worry the changes at AAA will make long lines even longer.

Despite these changes, there are still some AAA offices in the state that offer DMV services.

AAA locations in Avon, Cromwell, Enfield, Manchester, Old Saybrook, Plainville, Waterford and West Hartford will still offer DMV services.
