Man dies one month after being shot in Bridgeport

Family and friends are in mourning after the victim in a Bridgeport shooting last month died Monday morning.

Alexander Davis, 23, was walking along Brooks Street when someone shot at him multiple times and hit him once in the back.

Davis was brought to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was in the intensive care unit. The family was initially told he would be paralyzed but Davis succumbed to his injuries after spending three weeks in the hospital.

Friends have turned the corner of Brooks and Jane streets into a memorial for Davis.

The Davis family says they want justice for whoever killed their family member, and they believe he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"This is senseless. He didn't have to die," says Antoinette Davis, the victim's aunt.

The family says they have set up a GoFundMe page to pay for funeral expenses.
