Racial slur spray-painted on home in Stamford

Police in Stamford are investigating an incident that happened on a quiet residential street over the weekend.

Heather Lindsay and her husband say they woke up Saturday morning and found a racial slur spray-painted on the garage door of their home on High Clear Drive. Lindsay says she is outraged by the hateful word.

Police say they are investigating the incident as a bias crime, which can carry tougher penalties. Police are looking to see if security cameras captured any useful footage.

The homeowners say they have had a few people offer to help clean up the hateful damage.
