Snowy driveway causes issues for firefighters in New Canaan

A snow-filled driveway caused major problems for firefighters who needed to get to a house fire in New Canaan overnight.

Assistant Fire Chief Russ Kimes says they got a report of smoke at 208 Mill Road just before midnight.

He says cracks under the fireplace grate caused embers to smolder and reignite.

The chief says their biggest battle was the driveway.

Fire crews from Norwalk brought a tanker of water in to help douse the fire.
