White Barn Theatre in danger of closing down

The White Barn Theatre Foundation in Norwalk says the theater is in danger of shutting down.

The foundation says it needs $100,000 by the end of the week for a security deposit to buy the land underneath the theater.

The White Barn Theatre is one of the oldest regional theaters in the country, and has hosted on-stage appearances by Kevin Spacey, Al Pacino and Marilyn Monroe.

"People need to realize that if we lose these things, they're lost forever," says Peter Ling, of the White Barn Theatre Foundation. "They're extremely difficult to get back."

The White Barn Theatre says it already has about $50,000 in donations.
