Senate moves to block gun regulations
The Republican-led Senate is moving to block a gun regulation that would prevent an estimated 75,000 people with mental disorders from being able to purchase a firearm.
The vote to overturn President Barack Obama's December rule is the first clash over gun control in the new Congress.
Republicans say the former president infringed upon the Second Amendment rights of Social Security recipients and cast too wide a net.
Sen. Chris Murphy, who has been working on gun control since Sandy Hook in 2012, says the move is beyond belief.
