Bridgeport officials install free smoke detectors

Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch and other city officials visited a home today on Briarwood Avenue to install free smoke detectors.

The smoke detectors are being offered to any resident in the city under the Safe Asleep program.

"Under the Safe Asleep program, well over 100 people have evacuated their homes before they were injured by fire," said Mayor Finch.
