Family says farewell to Bridgeport murder victim
An ancient Chinese tradition burned brightly in Bridgeport today as a family said farewell to a murder victim. Milin Zhao, 30, was fatally shot last week while walking home from the restaurant he owned on Wood Avenue. Family members memorialized Zhao with individual sheets of paper known as "spirit money," which are burned as part of an ancient practice to ensure that the person who died will have plenty of good things in the afterlife. The family says this burnt offering of "spirit money" celebrates a life, but can never buy back the loved one they lost. Police are still looking for two suspects in connection with the shooting.Police: Bridgeport man robbed, fatally shot
