Milford police: Home invasion suspect shot during burglary
Milford police say a burglary suspect shot by a homeowner over the weekend remains in critical condition.
Authorities say the shooting happened after homeowner Gerald Mirto heard suspicious noises Saturday night. They say he allegedly confronted the suspect, 25-year-old Benjamin Prue, who was naked, then ran upstairs, retrieved a gun and shot him during a scuffle.
After being shot, Prue fled the scene before being arrested a short time later. Police say they found crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia in Prue's car parked nearby.
