Family of girl who drowned thanks public for support

The family of a Bridgeport girl who drowned earlier this week is thanking the public for their overwhelming support in donating money to help pay for her funeral.
Catherine Celina Perez Trujillo, 10, drowned on Tuesday while swimming in a restricted area of Fairfield's Lake Mohegan. Catherine's parents say it was a great comfort to learn how many people sent cash and checks to the Luz de Paz Funeral Home to help them pay for her final expenses. Edgardo Rodriguez, the funeral home's director, says more than twice the amount of money has been raised to support the family.
Catherine's wake will be held on Sunday at the Luz de Paz Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Her funeral will be Monday at St. Peter's Church in Bridgeport.
