Norwalk man accused of robbing bodega arraigned
A Norwalk man who allegedly robbed a local minimarket was arraigned earlier today.
The incident happened on Sunday just after the Elite Mini Market, located on Ely Avenue, opened up for business. The owner says 30-year-old Michael Fagan forced him onto the ground with a knife to his throat.
Fagan then allegedly went behind the counter to the cash register before trying to make a break for it. The owner closed the metal gate down, holding the suspect hostage until police arrived.
Officials say they are reviewing surveillance video at this time. The suspect says the incident was all a misunderstanding.
