Bridgeport holds anti-violence forum
Bridgeport residents got a chance today to voice their opinions on the recent gun violence in the Park City.
After 10 homicides in the city so far this year, more than 100 law enforcement officers, city leaders and community members attended the anti-violence forum held at Kolbe Cathedral High School.
Police Chief Joseph Gaudett says crime is up practically across the board this year, including rates for murders, robberies and burglaries.
Mayor Bill Finch believes today's event will help authorities develop a plan to counter the recent rise in crime in Bridgeport.
A second anti-violence public forum will be held June 26 at Housatonic Community College.
