Stolen Norwalk pooch has happy homecoming
A 3-month-old dog stolen from a Norwalk pet store earlier this week has been safely returned. The English Bulldog, valued at nearly $4,000, was taken from Puppies of Westport after a man attempted to purchase it using a fake credit card. Store owner Monty Kauffman says the pooch was then sold for $1,000 on the street in Stratford, but police were able to track him down at a house in West Haven. Kauffman says the puppy was not properly fed and was found overheated. A local veterinarian informed him the dog has minor health issues, but is expected to be fine.
